About

My name is Kathryn.  As for a last name, I’ve had several.   I’m married to a highly resistant optimist, named Erik, who got me hooked on blogging.  I’m also 42, 43, 44 years old and the mother of 2.  The only real difference between me and the average hormonal teenager, is that I know I’m unstable and I’m allowed to drink.  Also, dentists frequently compliment me on my gums and I can’t say the word “lover” with a straight face.

You can get my contact info by clicking on the lovely portrait that my daughter took of me when she was 4.  She has an eye.  I see potential.  I haven’t done anything about it yet, so there’s the guilt.

P.S.

“I have spent most of the day putting in a comma, and the rest of the day taking it out.”

- Oscar Wilde

Hi Kathryn, I don’t know if you remember me but I’m one of Erik’s UNH friends (we met at The Grog last year). I want you to know that your blog makes me laugh out loud and I have officially bookmarked it. you are an amazing storyteller and I think every mom can relate to what you write!

Let me just add a few items to your bio. You are hilarious, can eat french fries with no hands, knit beautifully and can be trusted with secrets. You never take the top napkin and you were the prettiest girl in high school, but it didn’t make you mean.

    Funny stuff, Kathryn!
I got to your blog via my friend Mark Myers @ tripletswithissues.com
I’m from Malden, Ma. and I’m just riding the wave and sucking the lozenge one day at a time. Keep writing the funny!

One more difference: No one would ever confuse the average hormonal teenager’s writing with Oscar Wilde. There are certain advantages to being 42 43 and still unstable.

Thank you! And thanks for stopping by. No, I don’t think so…I have varying degrees of commitment, attention, and coherency.
