You – Put that down, Hey hey hey Waffles are not weapons. And you – Give me that ladle and get out of the refrigerator – Wait? um, Where’s Mommy’s coffee? Is everyone cool? Are we cool?

Stop Apologizing!

I have noticed that mom’s say, “I’m sorry” a lot. You have enough on your plate sisters! Lighten up – It’s ok!! I have decided, being a mom means never having to say “I’m sorry” for things that are out of your control.

You will be late for stuff, you will forget appointments, you will lose things, you will have last minute cancellations, and ya know – It’s ok.

Of course, the S word sneaks out of my mouth once in a while. But lately, I have tried substituting: “You’ll have to excuse me,” and I feel like that covers most things. It’s not an apology – It’s just saying, “Look, this is the best I can do under the circumstances.” And, all of us are doing the best we can do.

So, there it is. And, you’ll have to excuse me now, I gotta get my kids to school…
